Spring is near!!!
At one point in 2014, we did have turf that was not snow covered. We all know it seems to be many of many days ago, but this picture was taken at the end of January. With the long range weather forecast, we are getting very close to this point again. Mother Nature gave us all a "True Winter to Remember".
As the weather start to break and all of the members and their guest start to "peak" their heads out for the first round of golf this season, I wanted to show some of our work that is in the process of being completed. These areas located behind #5 green along with the mounding on #6 always was an eye sore towards August and deep into fall depending on rainfall. Since the lack of irrigation is missing, we decided to remove the turf, will add mulch for a beautification project towards the Audubon Sanctuary project. Our goal is to install native LI plantings along with areas for the many different bird species that visit the Hamlet throughout the season. For more information on the Audubon, please click on the linked website on the left side of our main page.
We look forward to seeing each and everyone of you in the next couple of weeks and months.
